Abukuma Cave
Abukuma Cave features a 600-meter public section filled with stalactites and stalagmites, boasting one of the greatest varieties and quantities in Japan. Inside, visitors can choose between the General Course and the more adventurous Exploration Course, where you crouch through narrow passages, cross log ladders, and hop over stepping stones for a truly thrilling experience. The largest hall, Takinegoten, soars 29 meters to its highest point, offering an overwhelming sense of scale and beauty. Come and enjoy the artistic wonders of nature shaped over countless ages.

Takinegoten
The largest hall in Abukuma Cave, measuring 30m in length, 18m in width, and 29m in height. After groundwater dissolved the limestone to create the cavity, various stalactite formations developed over hundreds of thousands of years.
Senshin no Ike (Pool of Pure Heart)
This beautiful water originates from snow that falls on Mt. Otakine (elevation 1,192m) from the Sea of Japan side, emerges at the surface two years later, then permeates back underground through limestone to flow through the cave. The dripping water from the cave ceiling is rainwater that passed through limestone cracks ten years ago.
Tsuki no Sekai (World of the Moon)
This area features a variety of stalactite formations including icicle stones, stalagmites, and pillars. For the first time in a Japanese cave, a stage lighting system creates scenes from dawn to dusk. Enjoy a truly fantastical world.
