Nanatsugama Cave
The Nanatsugama cave cluster, which rose from the ocean floor approximately 30 million years ago, is a remarkably rare cave system worldwide, distinguished by its unique material composition and relatively recent formation age. Centered on the Shimizudo, a protected natural monument open to visitors, 35 cave openings have been discovered in the surrounding area, and the full extent of this vast cave system has yet to be fully mapped. The cave interior maintains a constant temperature of around 15°C year-round, and the flow of clear spring water welling up from deep within creates a space filled with pure, pristine air.

Oyako Jizo (Parent and Child Jizo)
This round, twin-headed stalagmite is called Oyako Jizo (Parent and Child Jizo) due to its shape. Stalactite formations go by different names depending on how they form: drops that accumulate upward from the floor like bamboo shoots become stalagmites; when these meet dripping formations from the ceiling, they fuse into pillars that can be further eroded or dissolved over time. It is said that just 1 centimeter of growth takes hundreds of years.
