Mugi Oshima
Mugi Oshima, an uninhabited island off the coast of Mugi, has been a mecca for rock fishing since the age of wooden boats over 100 years ago. Located about 8km from Mugi Port, it is renowned as a prime fishing spot. Highlights include strangely eroded sea rocks, the Kuroshio Current scenery, and an underwater park. Flocks of grey herons, a natural monument, can also be spotted. Tsushima Island is nearby as well.

A small island about 15 minutes offshore by ferry from Mugi Port. The traditional fishing village townscape from the early modern to Showa era remains intact. With no cars on the roads, life flows at a leisurely island pace. It has been designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government.
